The instructors

The people who guide us through our practice

Between them they cover every class on the schedule, each bringing something different to the room.

Amy Whorton, instructor at JB Wellness.

Amy Whorton

Instructor

Having always enjoyed group fitness classes, Amy discovered a profound love for yoga during the COVID-19 lockdown. With no other options available, she turned to online instruction and practiced yoga every day. The positive impact on her physical and mental well-being was undeniable—she was hooked!

Encouraged by her instructor, Erin Clair, she decided to deepen her practice and knowledge by enrolling in yoga teacher training. Under the guidance of Jill Belongia, she completed her training and was honored when Jill invited her to join her team of instructors at JB Wellness.

Today, she is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with both new and experienced yogis. Her classes focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can explore their practice, find balance, and grow stronger together. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your practice, Amy is excited to guide you on your yoga journey.

While off the mat, Christine can be found lifting weights, running, cycling, walking her two dogs, traveling with her husband and visiting their grown kids or working as a School Psychology Specialist with the Russellville School District.

Rachael Riley, instructor at JB Wellness.

Rachael Riley

Instructor

Rachael Riley started practicing yoga in 2021. She quickly fell in love with her yoga community and the positivity it brought to her life, not to mention the benefits of the physical practice. After experiencing these positive effects, she decided that she wanted to share the joy of yoga with others. As the next step of her yoga journey, she trained to become an instructor through YogaFit. Rachael enjoys a stronger practice to challenge you while having fun at the same time!

Sandy George, instructor at JB Wellness.

Sandy George

Instructor

Sandy George has practiced yoga at JB Wellness for 6 years. She has completed Level 1 training of Beth Shaw's YogaFit. She has also completed YogaFit Teacher training for Seniors. Sandy enjoys older people and wants all seniors to know that they should be moving everyday, or they will lose so much of their balance, muscle tone and energy. Chair yoga just seems to be the answer for older people, for people with injuries, for people who want to reduce their stress level, for people who want to improve their muscle tone, improve flexibility, and just have fun!

Sandy taught in the Russellville School district for 31 years. Since retirement ten years ago, Sandy has found time to discover things that she enjoys. She has been in running groups, has played Pickleball for many years, and has taken yoga classes.

Sandy's one daughter is a teacher. She has two granddaughters who are both juniors. One is in college and is still playing soccer, and the other attends Russellville School District. The youngest has already discovered yoga and is already discussing wanting to take yoga instructor classes. Being active runs in this family!
